LESSONS
Dr. Hsu's extensive experience as a teacher has given her the opportunity to work with students of all ages from a wide variety of backgrounds, including successful preparation for the ABRSM and CM exams.
Dr. Hsu is committed to helping students realize their musical goals week to week and to become truly independent-thinking creative artists, through a personalized approach tailored and adapted specifically to the unique personal qualities of each student. She strives to help students grow through a balance between positive and constructive feedback with detailed guidance towards effective practice and continual improvement. She takes a fully-integrated approach combining technical mastery of the instrument and discussions regarding musical expression with essential skills in ear-training, sight-reading, music theory, and analysis, with an emphasis on developing a rich sound and wide-ranging color palette. These many facets of music not only build a solid foundation in piano-playing, they also pave the way toward a truly fulfilling lifetime experience of personal expression, creativity, and discovery.
